Royal Enfield is making advancements on its Bullet 650, a single–seat bobber, and a faired Continental GT. Scrambler 650cc has also been tested meanwhile the RE is about to unveil the Shotgun 650cc.
Highlights
Royal Enfield is heading towards working on a 650cc adventure motorcycle. Recently a 650cc scrambler was tested. The most awaited Shotgun 650 is also lined up to be launched very soon. Moreover, there are at least three new bikes likely to be available with the 650cc platform, the most fascinating being the Bullet 650.
An official RE document revealed the 650cc family tree. The diagram depicts all the upcoming models. The diagram also shows a single-seat bobber, a retro roadster (which will likely be the Bullet 650) along with a faired version of the Continental GT 650 café racer (which has already been spotted testing).
The appearance of the Royal Enfield 650cc bobber will be similar to Jawa 42 Bobber. It will roll with alloy wheels along with a floating cantilevered seat. A big gap between the rear tyre and the rear fender most probably will move independently of the latter. Unlike the Jawa 42 bobber where the fender is not equipped with springs, Royal Enfield 650 comes with springs and hence moves up and down with the rear tyre.
A minimalist free-standing tail-lamp pod is mounted on the rear fender. A round headlight at the front, fringed with sturdy handlebars is likely to be experienced by bikers.
According to RE’s nomenclature and hierarchy, the Bullet 650, is presented as a variant of the bobber which in itself is a derivative model of the Interceptor 650 just like Bullet 350 which is technically homologated variant of Hunter 350 as they share the same features.
Even though Bullet 650cc shares its key features with the bobber and other 650cc REs, the Bullet will be a model of its own kind. Apart from the pillion seat, Bullet is liked to be attached with wire-spoke wheels. No official hint has been dropped on the option of alloys however it’s expected that the 650cc line-up is now going to get alloy wheels.
The tail area of the Bullet is significantly different from the Bobber’s, as Pillion's seat pushing Tail-lamp to be moved further back is quite a new thing.Like in Bullet 350, the exhaust pipes of Bullet 650 cc seemed to be allocated lower and flatter. Interestingly, the feature of the hood over the headlight of Classic 350 (not the bullet 350) is added with bullet 650. The silhouette Bullet 650 seems to be one of its kind model which is more likely potential than the Classic 650.
The proposed novel model as shown in the diagram suggests the faired continental GT 650. Royal Enfield is exploring its racing heritage, with the Continental GT Cup, where it runs faired race-prepped versions of its cafe racer. More recently, a road-going version of the Continental GT has been tested, with a fairing as well. But the test mule exhibited a conservative fairing. There is a shroud wrapping on the headlight and it is a fully faired vehicle along with the bodywork running down to the sides of the engine.
The subframe is relatively shorter than the Stock continental. The Bullet 650 is scrupulously a single -seater which is opposite to the ongoing road bike which is going to be accommodated with a pillion seat or a rear cowl. The final shape is going to be released very soon.
In addition to this, the existing RE 650cc line-up is also going to be under certain changes with the Interceptor recently spotted.
