All-new Skoda Kylaq, a bold compact SUV launching in India. Featuring advanced safety, a robust design, and eco-friendly materials, it's perfect for both city streets and off-road adventures.
On November 6, 2024, Skoda Auto will introduce the all-new Kylaq, launching the next phase of its product campaign in India. The Kylaq, a sub-4-meter competitive SUV that was specifically created for the Indian market, joins the brand's well-liked Kodiaq and Kushaq models. With its striking appearance, excellent safety features, and emphasis on sustainability, this SUV is a formidable competitor in one of India's fastest-growing markets.
In terms of design and dimension Kylaq belongs to the sub-4-meter SUV class, combines functionality with a strong, contemporary style, and it is characterized by Skoda's new global Modern Solid design language. It stands out on the road because of its aggressive fenders, high ground clearance, and characteristic Skoda stylistic elements like hexagon patterns and svelte daytime running lights.
The Kylaq's 1.0 TSI engine produces 85 kW (115 horsepower) and 178 Nm of torque, which is sufficient for both on-and off-road driving. A six-speed manual or automatic transmission is available to customers for a flexible driving experience.
Skoda has placed a high priority on safety, fitting the Kylaq with a multi-collision braking system, six airbags, and a front crash module made of hot-formed steel for passive safety. The SUV's dependability is ensured by extensive testing over 800,000 km in a variety of terrains and extremely hot conditions.
In order to produce a unique camouflage for the Kylaq that reflects Indian cultural patterns and colors, Skoda worked with Indian artist Harun Robert and local enthusiasts. This design honors Skoda's two decades of existence in India, signifying a close relationship with the country. The name "Kylaq" emphasizes the fusion of tradition and modernity further; it is derived from the Sanskrit word for crystal and Mount Kailash.
After the Slavia and Kushaq, the Kylaq is the third Skoda model designed and produced in India. The Kylaq boasts five-star Global NCAP safety ratings, innovative engineering, and high localization thanks to its adaptable MQB-A0-IN platform. This platform offers a solid mix between quality and affordability and was created to lower ownership costs and satisfy Indian consumers' aspirations.
The Kylaq is made at Skoda's solar-powered Pune plant, and it uses sustainable materials like bamboo fabric for the upholstery in the cabin. This is in line with Skoda Auto's sustainability objectives and demonstrates the company's dedication to minimizing its environmental effect while producing high-quality automobiles.
Skoda Auto India has had great success lately, selling more than 100,000 cars between 2022 and 2023. With its cutting-edge safety features, stylish appearance, and environmentally friendly construction, the Kylaq is expected to attract a new generation of automobile consumers and strengthen the company's position in the Indian market.
For Skoda Auto in India, the Kylaq is a daring move ahead. Its strong design, excellent safety features, and environmentally friendly manufacturing process position it to have a big influence on the sub-4-meter SUV market. With the introduction of this small SUV, the brand is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to India by providing cars that meet regional demands while upholding Škoda's international standards.
