New 650cc bike spotted on the roads under testing, BSA is coming with new 650 cc bikes.
BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company) was a British motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1861. The company produced a range of motorcycles, from small 125cc models to large 1000cc models. BSA bikes were known for their reliability and quality, and the brand was a popular choice among motorcyclists until the company's demise in the 1970s. The knowledge accumulated from the sky shots shows that the 650cc bike from BSC is going to rival the royal Enfield 650cc series.
The BSA 650cc was introduced in the UK market in July 2022 with a starting price of approximately GBP 6,500 or Rs 6.6 lakh as per the current exchange rate. The company is now preparing to release the motorcycle in other countries across the world.
BSA 650
Although there is no official announcement by the company regarding a release in India, Classic Legends may consider bringing the BSA 650cc to India due to the high demand for modern classic motorcycles. BSA is also planning to launch the Gold Star 650 in the US and possibly in South American markets, which would put the brand in direct competition with Royal Enfield in most of these regions.
At present, Classic Legends will produce the 650cc roadster in India and export it to global markets. However, the company is in the process of establishing a new assembly plant in the UK to divide manufacturing operations between the two countries. This facility will be separate from the Midlands-based plant commissioned by the UK Government for EV production. The Gold Star 650 was designed by British firm Redline Studios and its chassis was built by British engineering specialists Ricardo. The engine, however, was sourced from Austrian engineering firm Rotax and modified by the Technical University of Graz.
Engine and features
The Gold Star 650 features a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine capable of producing a maximum power output of 45hp and peak torque of 55Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox that employs a slipper and assist clutch. The manufacturer claims that the bike can reach a top speed of 166 kmph. Furthermore, the company has mentioned the possibility of tuning the engine for increased power and torque in the future. The bike is built on a dual-cradle tubular chassis and equipped with raked-out telescopic forks at the front and twin preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers. The braking system consists of disc brakes with Brembo calipers at both ends, which are supported by a dual-channel ABS.
If this bike will come in India this will give a variety of features and a direct competition to the royal Enfield 650cc bikes. This bike can reach top speed of 166 kmph which is not impressive for a 650 cc bike. For further details turn on the notifications.
