Tata Altroz CNG is finally available in the Indian market. The car is launched in six variants with a starting price of Rs 7.55 lakh.
Tata Motors launched Altroz iCNG trims in India with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 7.55 lakhs and up to Rs 10.55 lakh for top variants, making CNG trims around Rs 95,000 costlier compared to petrol variants.
Tata Alroz CNG is on-sale in the Indian market and comes in six different trims: XE, XM+, XM+(S), XZ, XZ+ (S), and XZ+ O (S). New Altroz's ex-showroom price for the base variant commences from Rs 7.55 lakh, which is comparatively higher than the petrol variants. Look at the below-mentioned table to understand price variations in different variants offered by the company.
As mentioned in the table, the premium CNG trim is up to Rs 1.03 lakh, costlier than the petrol variant. In comparison, the prices of Altroz CNG vary from Rs 7.55 lakh to Rs 10.55 lakh.
Altroz CNG gets a 1.2-liter Revotron three-cylinder NA petrol powertrain, similar to the powertrain available in Tigor CNG. This CNG powertrain has a rated engine output of 73.4PS and a peak torque of 103 Nm. The power output may seem lower than petrol trims, as the petrol version of Tata Altroz offers a power output of 86 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Additionally, CNG trims come mated with only five-speed manual transmission, as the Tata hasn't offered any automatic transmission option.
Tata has provided a unique twin-cylinder configuration in this CNG car, setting it apart from its competitor. Two smaller units of a cylinder are placed next to each, saving considerable space in the trunk area. Further, this configuration holds about 210-liter of boost capacity. Customers can find enough boot space and comfortable seating configuration, giving a closure feel to both SUVs and MPV.
The new Altroz CNG features iRA-connected car technology, six airbags, rear AC vents, cruise control, air purifiers, leatherette seats, and automatic climate control. Additionally, there is a sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charging option.
Tata Altroz CNG will take on Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG. Currently, Suzuki Baleno CNG is priced from Rs 8.35 lakh to Rs 9.28 lakh, while Toyota Glanza CNG's price starts from Rs 8.50 lakh to Rs 9.53 lakh.
