Tata Motors stole the spotlight at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo with an impressive display of their latest innovations. Among the stellar lineup, the Tata Altroz Racer Edition stood out, showcasing a blend of sporty aesthetics and performance enhancements. While details on the launch date are eagerly awaited, the Expo offered a glimpse into what could be a thrilling addition to the Tata Altroz lineup.
The Altroz Racer Edition maintains the distinctive style of the standard Altroz but introduces key design enhancements. The front features a black hood with striking white racing stripes, complementing the dual-tone exterior shade. On the side profile, attention is drawn to the new blacked-out multi-spoke alloy wheels, providing a fresh look compared to the model unveiled at Auto Expo 2023. At the rear, the car boasts split LED tail lamps separated by black trim and a larger spoiler, creating a more dynamic appearance.
While an in-depth look at the interior was not available at the Bharat Mobility Expo, previous showcases revealed an all-black interior with red inserts along the dashboard and center console, emphasizing the Altroz Racer's sporty nature. The cabin is expected to offer a perfect blend of aesthetics and comfort, enhancing the overall driving experience.
The Altroz Racer Edition comes loaded with features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver's display, ventilated seats, sunroof, and a high-quality Harman sound system. Safety features are anticipated to include six airbags, ABS with EBD, a reverse parking camera with sensors, and rain-sensing wipers.
Underneath the hood, the Altroz Racer Edition is powered by the 120 PS/170 Nm 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine sourced from the Nexon. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, the car will also offer an automatic transmission option, providing drivers with a dynamic and versatile driving experience.
The Altroz Racer Edition is anticipated to be priced between Rs 9.09 lakh and Rs 9.63 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it as a premium offering within the Altroz turbo variants. Once launched, it will directly compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line, setting the stage for an exciting rivalry in the premium hatchback segment.
