For the Tata Nexon ICE, Tata Nexon EV, Tata Harrier, and Tata Safari, meet the new Jet Editions, which bring a host of fresh cosmetic changes and feature upgrades over the standard versions.
We are familiar with Tata Motors' SUV lineup, which consists of the Tata Punch, Tata Nexon, Tata Harrier, and Tata Safari, as well as the Kaziranga, Dark, and Gold Editions. In order to increase sales of its SUVs and give customers a wide range of options for the holiday season, the company has once again unveiled a new range of special editions for 2022 that give their SUVs the sophistication of a business class flight. Meet the brand-new Jet Editions for the Tata Nexon ICE, Tata Nexon EV, Tata Harrier, and Tata Safari, which provides significant cosmetic and functional improvements over the standard models. We walk you through each new feature that Jet Editions offer.
The Tata Motors Jet Edition is offered on the Tata Nexon ICE Jet Edition's XZ+ (P)/XZA+ (P) in both diesel and petrol, and the Tata Harrier Jet Edition's XZ+/XZA+ (6-seater & 7-seater) trims, and the Tata Safari Jet Edition's XZ+/XZA+ (6-seater & 7-seater) trims. The Tata Nexon EV Max and Nexon EV Prime's Jet editions are included in the XZ+ LUX trim. What it really implies is that Tata is giving the Jet Editions more features than the trims it is based on. Start with the external improvements. The new paint job is the most important thing.
All of the cars receive a dual-tone paint treatment dubbed Starlight that features an earthy bronze body and a platinum silver roof. This color gives the automobiles more personality overall. The new Jet-Black alloy wheels and the silver front and rear skid plates enhance the SUV's personality and bring together the improvements that set it apart from the standard and even special edition models.
The updates are also visible in the cabin, which now features a dual-tone Oyster White & Granite Black exterior with details on the door and floor consoles in techno-steel bronze finish. To remind you of whatever special edition you are driving, there is also #Jet embroidery on the front headrests and deco stitching in a bronze thread on the seats. The Harrier and Safari Jet Editions' cabins differ slightly from one another and have extras such as perforated Oyster White - Benecke-Kaliko leatherette seats with bronze inlays to give them a more upscale appearance.
The cars differ slightly in terms of features in addition to aesthetics. The wireless charger, air purifier with AQI display, and ventilation feature for the front seats are added to the car starting with the Tata Nexon Jet Edition and the Tata Nexon EV Jet Edition. The Tata Harrier Jet Edition adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an air purifier, and a wireless charger to the vehicle. A wireless charger, an air purifier, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all included in the Tata Safari Jet Edition. Type-A and Type-C USB ports are now available in all three rows of the Tata Safari Jet Edition.
The Tata Nexon Jet Edition and Tata Nexon EV Jet Edition retain the same safety features as the trims they are built on. However, in addition to the features available on the trims on which both cars are based, Tata Motors has added new features to the Harrier and Safari Jet Editions. While the Tata Safari Jet Edition has advanced ESP features including Driver Doze off, After Impact Braking, and Panic Brake Alert, the Tata Harrier Jet Edition has EPB with Auto hold, all four-disc brakes, and A+C Type USB Charger on both rows.
There are no mechanical alterations to the cars' power outputs. The 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine produces 108 horsepower and 260 Nm of peak torque when paired with a 6-speed AMT, while the 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine produces 118 horsepower and 170 Nm of peak torque when paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. According to ARAI, the Tata Nexon EV Jet Edition has a 30.2 kWh battery pack that generates 127 horsepower and 245 Nm and has a 312 km range.
Under the hood of the Tata Harrier Jet Edition is a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, producing 168 horsepower and 350 Nm of peak torque. Last but not least, the Harrier and the Tata Safari Jet Edition both use the same engine, which has a comparable output and matching transmission setups.
The Nexon Jet Editions are available in XZ+ and XZA+ trims in both petrol and diesel variants for an additional Rs. 33,000 over the original version. The Safari Jet Edition receives an increase of Rs. 30,000 above the basic version for both its 6-/7-seater layout, while the Harrier Jet Edition is provided for an additional Rs. 50,000 over the standard version. Additionally, Jet Editions are available for the Tata Nexon EV Prime and Tata Nexon EV Max for Rs. 17.50 lakh and Rs. 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. This represents an increase of Rs. 20,000 over the variants on which each model is based.
