Tata Motors, a pioneer in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, has officially unveiled its latest addition to the EV lineup – the Tata Punch EV. This marks the company's fourth foray into the electric car domain and its second electric SUV. The bookings for the Punch EV have commenced, allowing customers to reserve their electric adventure for an initial amount of Rs 21,000.
The Punch EV is not just a new model but a significant leap forward for Tata Motors, being the first vehicle built on the Gen 2 EV architecture, aptly named acti.ev. This groundbreaking platform sets the stage for a new era in Tata's electric vehicle evolution.
Drawing design inspiration from its electric sibling, the Nexon EV, the Tata Punch EV features an updated grille and bumper design, resembling a scaled-down version of the Nexon EV. The SUV boasts a distinctive full-width light bar, split headlamp setup, and a charging socket at the front, marking a departure from the traditional rear placements.

Introduction of a frunk (front trunk)
While specific technical details are yet to be disclosed, the Punch EV offers two variants – Standard and Long Range. Expected to have 25kWh and 35kWh battery packs, respectively, these variants are equipped with different charging capabilities. The modular platform promises a range between 300km to 600km, depending on the model and battery configuration.
Inside, the Punch EV boasts of a layered dashboard design, featuring a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. Top-tier variants include a 360-degree camera, leatherette seats, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, connected car tech, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, cruise control, and the innovative Arcade.ev app suite.
Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, blind view monitor, ISOFIX mounts, and an SOS function.

The Punch EV offers a range of trims for both Standard and Long Range variants, serving diverse preferences. Positioned between the Nexon EV MR and Tiago EV MR, the Punch EV's expected ex-showroom prices range between Rs 10 lakh-13 lakh.

Tata Motors has simplified the booking process for the Punch EV. Customers can choose their preferred driving range, persona, charger type, color, and, with a simple click, reserve their Punch EV.
