The all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre's official pictures have been released by the company. The long, low two-door, four-seat coupe will be powered by an electric motor and will boast a range of 516 Km per charge.
► The production version of the all-electric Rolls-Royce coupe has been revealed.
► First deliveries in late 2023, with prices starting about £350,000 (approx. Rs. 3.26 Crore)
► Goodwood's manufacturing will be doubled in size.
This is the new Rolls-Royce Spectre, which was announced in late 2021, extensively tested through 2022, and is expected to reach its first customers in the fourth quarter of 2023.
It's a long, low two-door, four-seat coupe powered by an electric motor on each axle and constructed on a new version of the aluminium chassis used in the current Phantom, Cullinan, and Ghost. It boasts a range of 323 miles thanks to efficiency of 2.9 miles per kWh and a drag co-efficient of just 0.25 - the most aerodynamic Rolls so far.
It's also the stiffest, by 30%, because to the battery's integration into the construction. It's also the heaviest production Rolls-Royce ever, weighing in at 2975kg. It sports the biggest grille ever, as well as a new Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, the product of 830 hours of wind tunnel testing and modelling. The car measures 5453mm long, 2080mm wide, and 1559mm tall, with a 3210mm wheelbase.
The Phantom Coupe, produced between 2008 and 2016, has the most similar posture and proportions, however many of the lines are more beholden to boat design - a popular topic among Rolls clients. Sitting in the car at the Goodwood plant presentation, it's a low, sumptuous, and very classic setting, with loads of buttons and switches.
"Our clientele would regret it if we removed that aspect of luxury and cossetting surroundings, with the soft leathers and woods," said Design Director Anders Warming.
His strategy was to build it first as a Rolls-Royce and then as an electric vehicle. "It's laying the way for Rolls-electric Royce's future. What you see here is an automobile that is completely in line with Rolls-DNA. Royce's The car's poise, calmness, and waft ability are instantly apparent. With the electricity on top, you know it's a Rolls-Royce at heart. It's a work of art on wheels."
"We are leaders because we listen. We pay attention to our clientele, with whom we have a really particular relationship." The order book was already bulging a year before the first customers received their vehicles, which is one of the reasons Rolls-Royce is seeking planning approval for a massive expansion of its current campus-style plant on the Goodwood estate. This would make place for a new paint shop, which is needed due to an increase in demand for two-tone paint schemes, as well as engineering and logistics operations.
The current annual output is roughly 7000 automobiles. Müller-tvös stated that he would not want to exceed 10,000 automobiles in order to maintain the sense of exclusivity.
