The eighth-generation BMW 5 series features new styling and updated technology for a premium driving experience.
The BMW 5 Series is a premium midsize sedan that is known for its exceptional performance, luxurious features, and cutting-edge technology. The upcoming eighth-generation BMW 5 Series promises to take these attributes to the next level with a slew of exciting new updates.
The new model features a sleek and sporty exterior design, along with a range of advanced safety and driver-assist features that ensure a comfortable and safe driving experience. Overall, the BMW 5 Series is a top-performing midsize sedan that combines style, luxury, and technology in a way that few other cars can match.
Together with the normal petrol and diesel models, the new 5 Series will also come in hybrid-powered (both mild- and plug-in hybrid) variations. In reality, the i5 will also feature an M performance variant with refined dynamics, just like the i4 M50.
If the i4's specifications are any indication, the i5 should have a battery pack that is the same size as or larger than the i4's 80.3kWh, according to WLTP claims.
Behind the curtains, the teaser reveals a similar profile with lighted vertical DRLs. Any other details regarding the new 5 Series' appearance are currently under wraps, but given recent BMW offerings and their associated design language, we believe this one will likewise be, to put it mildly, a daring take.
We won't rule out the possibility that the contentious kidney grille will also appear on the 5 Series because the manufacturer claims that it "boasts a fresh interpretation of its hallmark stylishly sporting style," to quote. Whether you like it or not, BMW is sticking with it.
The new 5 Series will use the most recent version of the BMW Operating System, version 8.5, along with curved displays for the infotainment system and digital driver's display, keeping with BMW's brand identity. Additional features are currently unclear, however, a long brochure list of luxuries can be anticipated.
All of these rumours will become facts once BMW finally introduces the new sedan. In October 2023, a global rollout will start, and India is likely to follow shortly after. The all-electric i4 and i7 sedans, the latter of which was just introduced in the nation, will be bridged by its electric version, which will debut in 2024. Over the previous 5 Series, which was sold in India for between Rs 65.40 lakh and Rs 74.50 lakh (ex-showroom), expect a price increase.
