Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, & Kia have bagged top spots in Indian audiences heart when it comes to MUVs. Let's have a look at top 3 best-selling MUVs in September 2022.
September 2022 was a good month for Indian automakers. UV (Utility Vehicle) sales increased year on year, with the Brezza and Ertiga leading the way in the SUV and MPV segments, respectively. When it comes to India's best-selling MPVs, the Maruti Ertiga holds the top rank with total sales of 9,299 units. However, when compared to September 2021, sales of the MPV decreased by 18%.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 7,282 Innova Crysta, up from 4,724 in the same month the previous year. Kia's recently introduced Carens has been producing volume for the automaker in the country. The South Korean manufacturer sold 5233 Carens cars in September 2022. Here are the essential features of India's three best-selling MPVs.
Earlier this year, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga underwent a mid-life refresh. The engine is a new 1.5L Dualjet engine with start-stop technology. The motor has a peak output of 103bhp and a torque of 36Nm. A 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters handle transmission chores. The Ertiga is said to get 20.51kmpl with the manual transmission and 20.30kmpl with the automatic transmission. The MPV is also available with CNG fuel. When running on CNG, it produces 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque. The Ertiga CNG boasts 26.11km/kg with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Toyota Innova Crysta is available with a 166hp, 2.7-liter petrol engine or a 150hp, 2.4-liter diesel engine. Both engines are available with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The Kia Carens now comes with three engines: a 115hp 1.5-litre normally aspirated petrol, a 140hp 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, and a 115hp 1.5-litre diesel. All three engines come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmissions are available for the turbo-petrol and diesel models. Kia claims that the Carens petrol and diesel provide up to 16.5kpl and 21.5kpl, respectively.
