India is receiving a plethora of new cars and when it comes to Rs. 10 lakh bracket, the choices get humongous. You get multiple options in each and every segment be it SUV, hatchback, sedan MPV, etc. Hence, to sort out your worries about your next best pick, we have come up with the top 5 upcoming cars in India under 10 lacs in 2021.
1. Citroen C3 AircrossCitroen is the latest entrant in this segment which has already launched a premium SUV C5 Aircross in Indian market. The Citroen C3 Aircross will carry a similar look as its elder sibling with subtle changes to justify its size.
The C5 Aircross will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired to a manual and a DCt automatic transmission. The CMP platform over which it is planted will also underpin Jeep compact SUV in the times to come. It will be competing with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and Honda WRV.
2. Honda JazzHonda Jazz has always been a great car though, it never reached as many buyers as it deserved to get. The 2021 version of the Honda Jazz has been unveiled in some nations including its home country, and it is expected to soon land on the Indian ground too.
The design of the new Jazz is a completely new affair, still it resembles its original shape which makes it a very practical and comfortable car. The new headlamps look way modern than the existing ones due to the new shape. At the rear, the car looks more balanced and well rounded across the edges. We are expecting it to be powered by the same engine that’s currently powering the car along with the mild hybrid system.
3. VW PoloVW Polo is the longest living car in its segment. Since last one decade, the car has received no changes to its original design, however, VW keeps updating it with the trending features in the market including a blacked out headlamp barrel, modern stereo system, new steering wheel, better looking alloy wheels, etc.
VW Polo will see a radical change in its shape. It has already been introduced in various countries and India will receive a slightly tuned version to suit the Indian norms and road conditions.
It’ll get the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine with a manual and torque converter unit. VW may bring another powerful engine i.e. 1.5-litre TSI petrol from the Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun, but it carries very rare chances.
4. Tata HornbillTata Hornbill has covered a good number of rounds of tests on highways and rural areas. It is dubbed as the smallest SUV in Tata's portfolio and will carry a lot of goodies for first time car buyers.
Visually, the Hornbill gets a front design which is a mix of Tata Harrier and Tata Nexon. If you notice, it gets a bonnet which is similar to the Nexon while the LED DRL unit resembles to be taken from Harrier.
Additionally, it’ll get diamond cut alloy wheels and a sloping roof line to make it look more urban. In terms of engine, it’ll get Tata Tigor, Tiago and Altroz’s 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine along with a manual and AMT transmissions.
5. Maruti Suzuki Baleno based SUVMaruti Suzuki Baleno is among the most successful products from the brand. It gets huge value for money and is highly inexpensive to maintain. Maruti is coming up with an SUV based on Baleno. It’ll be positioned below VItara Brezza and will carry the same engine as the donor vehicle.
In terms of design, the new vehicle will have a big shift from Baleno’s architecture. It’ll have more SUV-ish features and sharper edges. The spied image of the car has a chunky big front grill with angular LED DRL and LED headlamps with a floating fluorescent green stripe in between. We also expect this vehicle to get the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine during the launch.
