The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder was introduced in India recently and today we will check out how it fares against its rivals.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, as the only car with potent hybrid powertrains now available in the sector, Toyota and Maruti Suzuki's jointly produced compact SUVs are preparing to perform well in India's fiercely competitive compact SUV market. Toyota has released the prices for the top variants of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, while the prices for the lower variants will be announced at a later time. As a result, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has beaten the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara to the market. The Hyryder's mild hybrid drivetrain's most expensive model costs Rs. 17.09 lakh (Ex-showroom). However, the 3 powerful hybrid drive train configurations range in price from Rs. 15.11 million to Rs. 18.99 lakh (Ex-showroom).
| Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Variants | Prices (Ex-Showroom, India) ||---------------------------------------|-----------------------------|| V AT 2WD Neo Drive | Rs. 17.09 Lakh || S eDrive 2WD Hybrid | Rs. 15.11 Lakh || G eDrive 2WD Hybrid | Rs. 17.49 Lakh || V eDrive 2WD Hybrid | Rs. 18.99 Lakh |
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder competes in the Indian market at launch against a profusion of compact SUVs. In addition, a few mid-size SUVs are available in the price range. Starting with the small SUVs, Hyryder is up against stiff competition from models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which are made in Korea. Both SUVs are highly well-liked and have a tonne of features and comforts. Because they offer a lot of space, they also rank highly in usefulness.
They are followed by the Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq, two SUVs that are part of the Volkswagen brand. The MQB-A0-IN platform, which is adaptable and heavily localized, serves as the foundation for the two SUVs, which were introduced in India last year as part of the group's India 2.0 strategy. Although they are half a size smaller than their competitors, compact SUVs outperform them in several areas, including luxury and driver involvement.
The Tata Harrier is the only compact SUV produced by an Indian company that is currently available for purchase. When compared to other compact SUVs, the Harrier is larger and offers a lot of performance. It also has a tonne of features and is built like a tank, which helped the vehicle earn a 5-star Global NCAP crash test rating, making it one of the safest vehicles in India.
The MG Hector has an imposing attitude, which is something that many Indian shoppers noticed. It established the tone for the MG brand in India and attracted a respectable amount of market share at launch. The small SUV is available in a variety of configurations, but only one engine is available.
The Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio-N are now the two most popular mid-size SUV models available for purchase. The two Mahindra SUVs' major downside is the wait time since each has more than a lakh unfulfilled orders. The pair outperforms the Hyryder in terms of the room while also scoring highly in terms of features, luxury, build quality, and safety.
