Tata Motors, a key player in the electric PV segment, is set to unveil its latest electric offering, the Tata Punch EV, today. With a slew of new features and advanced technology, the Punch EV aims to compete with models like the Citroen eC3 and the upcoming Hyundai Exter EV. Building on the success of the Nexon EV, Tata Motors is poised to maintain its leadership position in the electric vehicle market.

The Punch EV follows Tata Motors' successful strategy of offering both medium and long-range versions, catering to different user needs and budgets. The EV, based on the existing ALFA platform with Tata's Gen 2 EV architecture, boasts of significant modifications for enhanced performance. Featuring a liquid-cooled battery pack, a permanent magnet synchronous motor, and all-wheel disc brakes, the Punch EV promises a compelling driving experience.
Inside, the Punch EV introduces segment-first features like ventilated front seats, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (upgradable to 10.25 inches in higher variants), and signature elements from the Nexon EV, such as the jewelled drive selector. The cabin also supports a digital instrument cluster, a new two-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo, and an electronic parking brake.
While retaining the overall design of its ICE counterpart, the Punch EV showcases cosmetic enhancements to emphasize its electric identity. Notable exterior changes include a blanked-out grille, a new full-width LED element, and updated alloy wheels.
Positioned between the Tiago EV MR and Nexon EV MR in Tata's lineup, the Punch EV is expected to be competitively priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 13 lakh.
